If you have not completed the online registration for the 2018-19 school year, we will have two additional days that you may complete the process at the school.  If you have your Family Access username and password, you can begin the registration from any internet connected computer. You must either upload your student’s shot record or bring it in during onsite registration before your student has completed registration.

For those who prefer to come into the school to use district computers to complete the online registration, you can come in either Wednesday, July 25th from 8 am to 4:00 pm, or Thursday, July 26th from 9 am to 5 pm.  Only the parent or legal guardian can complete the online registration. Staff will be available to assist if needed.

If you will be coming into the district to complete the online registration process, please bring the following:

  •     Students must come in with the parent or guardian
  •     Shot record
  •     Birth Certificate (new students only)
  •     Monthly Income
  •     Insurance policy number
  •     Physician, dentist, and hospital name and phone numbers
  •     Current legal guardian paperwork, if applicable
  •     Physical and mailing address

If you do not have a login for Skyward Family Access, please either click the link below to download the form or contact the school to obtain the permission form. Once you complete the form (one form per student) and return it to the school, you will be issued an online username and password. Each family will be required to have a Skyward Family Access login in order to complete registration this year. Please be advised that only parents or legal guardians can be granted an online username and password for Skyward Family Access.

All parents or guardians registering students in all grades will enter through Jemez Valley Elementary/Middle School Office for check in before proceeding to the computer lab.

As a reminder, all adults visiting Jemez Valley Public Schools must bring a valid state issued identification card and be checked in through our Raptor system.

Tutoring
A NEW tutoring program for students in grades 4th, 5th and 6th began on February 20, 2018.  Participation in this tutoring program requires a teacher referral.  Tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.  Student-athletes attending tutoring must complete 1 hour of tutoring before they are released to their Coach for practice.  Transportation home is available through the Activity Bus.

Parent/guardians, through the end of the school year, please check weekly with your student to see if they received a Tutoring Referral Form.  If yes, please sign and return the form by the next school day.  A student will not be allowed to stay if they do not have a signed referral/permission form.

The goal of this tutoring program is to provide additional support to students struggling in class; it is not to take place of regular instructional time during the school day nor is it to take place of family assistance at home.  Jemez Valley Elementary and Middle School appreciate your support in helping make this initiative a success.

New Research Shows Nearly Half of American Parents Underestimate the Harm of School Absences

A student who misses just two days of school each month — 18 days total in the year — is considered to be chronically absent. However, many parents don’t realize that, even when excused or understandable, absences add up and can greatly impact a child’s education. In the United States, more than 6 million children are chronically absent from school each year....Click here to read the full article.

School Visitor Management System

Raptor

JVPS is using Raptor, a visitor management system that enhances school security by reading a visitor's driver's license and/or state ID and checking the information against multiple security databases and establishing a consistent visitor sign-in process across the district. When the visitor is accepted, the system prints a visitor's sticker with a picture identifying him/her as an approved visitor.

Raptor only scans the visitor's name, date of birth and photo for comparison purposes. No other personal identifying information is saved.

Check in

If the system raises a question about a visitor's background, the school administrator will take the necessary steps to ensure the appropriateness of each individual's visit.

Upon your initial visit to a school, the process will take approximately 30 seconds; however, on return visits you will only be required to provide your name to the secretary and the system will recognize you.

The safety of our students and staff is a top priority in Jemez Valley Public Schools. This new process simply enhances their safety and security by limiting access to those who pose a potential threat.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact your child's building principal.
